Getting here from Arizona

- Phoenix and Tucson are 3.5 to 4 hours away through the Lukeville crossing, then 60 miles on Highway 8.
- Lukeville is open 6 am to 8 pm. Sonora keeps the same clock as Arizona all year.
- Bring a passport book or card to come home, and a birth certificate for children under 16. Buy Mexican auto insurance before you cross.
- No vehicle permit is needed in the Sonora free zone. Fill in the free FMM tourist form online before you leave.
